Caroline Hawke is a Melbourne-based entertainer with many strings to her bow. From the age of six Caroline has been singing, acting and dancing in musicals, cabaret shows, corporate performances, tribute shows, covers bands, duos, and showcasing her originals.
Caroline trained as an English and drama teacher in the early ‘90s while embarking on her professional performing career. While in the originals band “Tomorrow Wendy” Caroline co-wrote her first songs, continuing a passion for writing that began in her formative years. Caroline also writes lyrics and melodies for composers and artists around the world and has recorded her own work with Michael Zammit in recent years.
Caroline brings a certain grace and sophistication to the contemporary music world; a classically-trained vocalist, Caroline studied music theatre at The National Theatre in the late ‘90s and was selected to graduate. Having trained with some of the best vocal teachers in Australia, Caroline is known for her versatility, covering various genres including jazz, opera, soul, pop and cabaret. In 2015 she appeared in the original Melbourne musical, “Audrey Hepburn and I Consider Our Assets” at the Melba Speigeltent and “Rent” with Western Arts Theatre. Current projects include singing in the corporate band “Big Night Out” and co-writing a cabaret show, due to be performed in 2017. Whether it’s belting out the hits of the ‘70s and ‘80s, a sultry crooning style or lending her warm, rich soprano notes to a piece, Caroline’s vocal expertise and dynamic live performances are known throughout Australia.
With her professional performance experience and thorough training, Caroline Hawke is able to give students comprehensive tutelage in the performing arts. From Foundation students to adults, she provides a comfortable and nurturing environment for people to learn how to sing and develop as performers.
Caroline specialises in coaching students in the technical aspects of singing and acting; an understanding of the processes involved in performing at a professional level. From audition preparation to rehearsal workshops, Caroline will guide them through each learning milestone to cultivate confident, skilled and engaging entertainers. Caroline will develop and hone each student’s performance persona while helping them understand and navigate the professional entertainment arena.
